The wholehearted parenting manifesto

I read this article in the Huffington Post today and it means something to me – if it doesn’t mean anything to you because you are not a parent, then consider sharing it with someone who could benefit from it.

It’s about a “wholehearted parenting manifesto” that this lady named Brene’ Brown wrote – she’s a world renowned thinker, a TED talker and she’s very insightful about parenting in this article.

She’s not a parenting expert, but she writes from the heart.

Parenting does not come with a bonafide checklist and parenting does not have set rules. I’ve learned that in 4 and a half years!

She writes: “Ironically, parenting is a shame and judgment minefield precisely because most of us are wading through uncertainty and self-doubt when it comes to raising our children. “

I know that between my daughter and I, we seek certainty and we don’t wallow in self-doubt…we enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If you came to my blog seeking advice, then if you are a parent, or even if you are not, just remember that it all starts with GRATITUDE.

Life is by design, not by default!

Brene’ has a website based on her recent book “Daring Greatly.” Make sure that you check her out!

Here’s the manifesto:
